About empathy, brand and logo redesigns, and design teams

One key designerly behavior is empathic concern: being able to understand and feel for people, and use that to help them. While you will find over 11 million results for a Google search on "empathy in design", this issue has three - a 2-minute video clip about the three levels of empathy, a long read on false empathy, and a short read on how designers can generate empathy by walking a mile in people's shoes.

With the new year, there have been a few logo and brand redesigns - this issue looks at the CIA, South Carolina, Burger King, Pfizer, and MS Windows aspiration.

We'll also take a look at the current state of design teams, and CES 2021 which will be virtual next week.

I hope you enjoyed this first issue of 2021, and the articles on the designerly behavior of empathy as well as the recent rebranding exercises.

I'm looking for feedback, of the brutally honest kind, so this can improve over time. You can reach me at lycerejo (at) gmail.com - thank you!
